The 7 Fundamental Principles of Hawaiian Wisdom

Serge Kahili King, author of ‘Urban Shaman’ wrote in his book – the 7 fundamental principles of Hawaiian Wisdom (also know as ‘Huna’ Principles) were the observations of “wise healers on life and healing, and expressed in an accessible form that can be easily conveyed and remembered”.

Huna was originally called Ho’omana – “creating life-force”. Ho’o meaning ‘to make’ and Mana meaning ‘life force’ originating from the ancestors of ancient Hawaii, is believed to be one of the earliest arts and sciences of healing and spiritual development.

Hawaiian Wisdom is about expanding our connection with the most authentic part of ourselves, the Divine Self and our relationship with nature, the universe… all things really. To fortify, strengthen, energize, enliven, vitalize, rejuvenate, restore, revive, invigorate all levels of our Being. To experience and connect physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually with a Divine Power that can empower us to bring into our life whatever one desires.

The ‘Law of Attraction’ arguably could be said to be a derivative from the ancient Polynesians and master healers of Hawaii. Not so much ‘laws’, the 7 Huna Principles are simple, eloquent, and fundamentally offers a way to replenish your life, your life-force (ho’omana).

At the core of Hawaiian Wisdom is; LOVE – ALOHA.

Aloha means with breath; and translated as “Love”.

In the Hawaiian language, the word “Aloha” holds the consciousness of the ancients. “A” is the first light of dawn, the spark of God, God the father, Goddess the mother. We are the “A”, we are the spark. “Lo” is the symbol and the sound of eternity. “Alo” means to fully embrace something with your Heart. “Ha” is the breath, the gift, the blessing of life that comes from God.

Aloha is our guiding blueprint, a framework, for living together in harmony. A framework that includes acceptance, acknowledgment, gratitude and forgiveness for ourselves and others.

Integrate your mind, body and soul with these 7 Principles to create your blueprint for a life lived with harmony.

At first the shifts may be subtle, however over time the power of integrating these principles will begin to be revealed in your relationship to yourself, the relationships with others in your life, and the relationships with all things.
